Based around the principles recommended by BS 8903 - the world's first standard for sustainable procurement published in Autumn 2010, our MasterClasses will help you lead your business into a new era of sustainable procurement.
Facilitator Shaun McCarthy, Director of Action Sustainability and a leading expert in sustainable business will examine how to manage your supply chains in ways that offer long-term commercial value and competitive advantage.
Aims
Many organisations are recognising the importance of managing their supply chains in a more responsible way.
However, it is widely acknowledged that the procurement profession is struggling to develop the skills to meet the sustainable procurement agenda. Organisations are getting better at producing sustainable procurement policies and strategies, yet there is a significant lack of relevant knowledge, skills and leadership in the procurement profession which impedes the implementation of sustainable procurement. BS 8903 provides guidance to any size and type of organisation on adopting and embedding sustainable procurement principles and practices. It covers all stages of the procurement process and is applicable across industry, public, private and third sector organisations.
