Investing in a Low Carbon Britain

Article taken from the BERR website.

On 23 April, the Government published Investing in a Low Carbon Britain. This builds on the vision of Britain's Low Carbon Industrial Strategy (published on 6 March) by setting out how the programme of targeted investment announced in the 2009 Budget starts to put this vision into practice.

In the Budget Government announced they are committing an additional £1.4 billion of targeted support, which together with announcements made since last Autumn, will enable an additional £10.4 billion of low carbon and energy investment over the next three years.

Investing in a Low Carbon Britain sets out a programme of targeted investment to provide real help now for businesses and households, creating and sustaining the jobs that will contribute to the UK's prosperity in a new low carbon world.

Businesses and others with an interest are asked for their input to inform a final strategy to be published in the summer. The BERR website provides an opportunity for you to engage on how the Government can be a catalyst for low carbon growth and set business on the path to building the low carbon economy.
