Sustainable procurement CAN improve your career

We are delighted to report the promotion of one of our star clients, Andy MacAskill to the role of Director of Procurement for Skanska UK.

Following on from the news of Kieran Brocklebank's promotion at United Utilities in the summer after succesfully implementing a sustainable procurement strategy, this is further evidence that sustainable procurement can be good for your career.

Following early work with the Action Sustainability team, Andy went on to seize the initiative to develop a sustainable procurement strategy for Skanska UK. The strategy, which is being supported by staff training and supplier engagement, is being rolled out across the UK Operating Units. It represents best practice in construction and supports Skanska's ambitions to be the world's most sustainable construction company.

Andy' achievements have also been recognised by the Mayor of London when he was appointed a London Leader in 2008.

We wish Andy success in his new role and look forward to continuing to work with him and his team.
