Changes to Defra funded support on sustainable procurement in England

Defra funded support on sustainable procurement in England is changing. From the 1st April 2010 WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) will be the single point of contact for businesses and organisations looking for support and guidance on improving their resource efficiency.

The changes being made now will make it quicker and easier for people to get what they need. WRAP will provide a one-stop-shop, pulling together the support previously offered by seven resource efficiency programmes* in England.

WRAP is working with Defra on the public sector procurement delivery plan for the next 12 months. This will be based around the implementation of the new Marrakech Procurement Toolkit Defra is finalising as part of it's training programme to support the Green Public Procurement target.

For more information on how support is going to be provided from the 1st April, go to www.wrap.org.uk/england or contact the WRAP helpline on 0808 100 2040.
