Responsible Procurement eLearning Tool

Want to get up to speed with Responsible Procurement practices but don't have enough time to read a report or attend a training course?

GLA have come up with the solution for you!

On the 1st April, the GLA group launched an eLearning tool on Responsible Procurement.  The free to use tool aims to promote GLA group experiences of delivering value for money and social and environmental benefits through responsible procurement. It also encourages best practice to other public sector organisations who wish to learn more about responsible procurement.

The eLearning tool gives a 50 minutes insight on key Mayoral priorities and their link to procurement including skills and employment, environmental sustainability, equality & diversity and the London Living Wage.  The tool consists of 5 interactive units covering everything from case studies from each organisation in the GLA group, to examples of how to introduce Responsible Procurement provisions into a contract.

Through the Responsible Procurement programme, the GLA group is using its purchasing power of more than £3 billion per year to deliver real benefits to all Londoners. Richard Barnes, Deputy Mayor of London and sponsor of the Responsible Procurement programme supports the new learning tool: "I am incredibly proud of all the work done in this area and the collaboration across the GLA family on Responsible Procurement. This tool represents a fantastic opportunity to engage with procurement professional across London boroughs and beyond."

We are keen to share our experiences on Responsible Procurement with everyone so have a go completing the tool and let us know what you think.

Please go to www.london.gov.uk/rp to access the Responsible Procurement eLearning tool.

The GLA group will launch a supplier variant for the RP eLearning at the end of June which will also be freely available from the RP website www.london.gov.uk/rp. Please pass on the link to your suppliers as it will place them in a better position to bid for opportunities within the GLA group.
