Up to 50 generalist Games Makers required.

The Sustainability team will promote sustainability to the public, media and wider stakeholders, and make sure the Games comply with environmental regulations.

Sustainability is one of the most distinctive and inspiring aspects of the Games and their legacy, and Games Makers should have an active interest in the sustainability agenda.

The highs...

You will be on the inside of the most incredible sustainability story of a generation, gaining knowledge and experience in an area of growing and significant global importance.

... and possible lows

You will work long hours on the perimeters of competition venues so you may not see much sporting action. You will also need to deal with the high expectations of stakeholders.

Sample Sustainability roles

Sustainability Team Leader (April-September 2012)

Responsibilities and tasks include:

supporting the management of sustainability volunteers;
carrying out compliance monitoring activities; and
providing sustainability information to the public, media, athletes and partners.

Skills preferred:

professional sustainability/environmental background
people management
computer literacy/data entry

Sustainability Team Member (April-September 2012)

Responsibilities and tasks include:

helping with the day-do-day management of the programme;
supporting the managers and documenting any sustainability issues; and
providing sustainability information to the public, media, athletes and partners.

Skills preferred:

good communication skills
computer literacy/data entry
