Siemens on carbon neutral technology

Care for the environment is now the concern of every responsible business.

We have yet to realise the full potential of carbon neutral technology, but many of our more forward-looking firms have taken big strides in that direction.

Siemens, a German multi-national conglomerate, is very proud of its achievements in this respect

Among other things, the company highlights its involvement in:

• Generating increasing amounts of renewable energy, through its use of wind and water power;
• Using new techniques to distribute energy over considerable distances with minimal loss;
• Designing and building a vast range of energy-conscious appliances - from state-of-the-art mobile phones to ultra-modern high-speed trains.

The video is a public relations exercise for the company and must be seen in that light, but it is reassuring to know that a major international player is setting such tough targets to reduce carbon emissions.
