Sustainable Procurement: The New Era is Here - Voices from the first Action Sustainability Conference


Action Sustainability's first annual conference - Sustainable Procurement: A New Era - on 10 February 2011 at Sainsburys HQ in London was an great success, with exceptional speakers that included Peter Head of Arup, Neil Sachdev of Sainsburys, Shaun McCarthy of Action Sustainability and the Commission for a Sustainable London 2012, George Martin of Willmott Dixon, Andy MacAskill of Skanska and Luca Guzzabocca of Banca Monte Dei Paschi Di Siena.  We were lucky enough to capture some of their views on video, where they gave their takes on some of the current hot topics in sustainable procurement.
 
  • Shaun McCarthy from Action Sustainability, on how far we've come since the establishment of the Strategic Supply Chain Group and the establishment of the Flexible Framework five years' ago
  • Andy MacAskill from Skanska on what they are doing to define responsible supplier
  • Luca Guzzabocca from Banca Monte Dei Paschi Di Siena on leadership in sustainable procurement and becoming more accountable for it
  • George Martin of Willmott Dixon on how buyers can change their mindset on whole life costing and adopt it
