Skanska first in Sunday Times green companies 2011

Action Sustainability congratulates Skanska for achieving first place in the Sunday Times green companies award 2011. This company has set out to be the most sustainable construction company in the world and this recognition confirms that they are well on their way to this vision. We are proud of having played a very small part in this achievement through our work over the past 3 years in helping Skanska to develop their sustainable procurement policy and training over 250 of their people in sustainable procurement. Skanska has also contributed to our technical authorship of the standard BS 8903 and has supported our ground breaking Green Dragons programme, procurement director Andy McAskill was a welcome speaker at our sustainable procurement conference in February 2011 and we look forward to hearing from him at our 2012 event. We look forward to working more closely with Skanska in the coming months and years as they aim for the most sustainable supply chain in the sector.
