Willmott Dixon Construction has a strategic aim to undertake all of its operations on a more sustainable basis. Sustainable procurement is key to delivering this aim. We appreciate that we cannot do this in isolation and this is the reason for the creation of Re-Thinking as an independent consultancy and advisory service focused on the delivery of leading edge sustainability advice.

Re-Thinking believes that by learning from each other we can develop leadership in sustainable procurement. That is why we are developing a "Community of Practise" that will bring together organisations who share the goal of learning about how to procure more sustainably. Re-Thinking will deliver this "Community of Practise" in partnership with Action Sustainability, a non-for profit social enterprise dedicated to inspiring sustainable procurement.

Organisations in the public and private sector are coming under increasing scrutiny by Government, non-Government organisations, investors and customers to act responsibly. The Sustainable Procurement Task Force's Action Plan Procuring the Future recommends a Flexible Framework to guide and measure progress towards placing the UK among EU leaders in this field by 2009.
