Looking for a construction course that focuses on Sustainable Procurement?
Now you're on the sustainable procurement journey, are you ready to take the next steps - maybe towards BS 8903 - but you're looking for something that is specifically designed for the construction industry?  If so, this 2-day course has been designed with you in mind and is based on BS 8903 - the world's first publication to define how to effectively deliver sustainable procurement.  The course will help you to gain a much deeper understanding of sustainable procurement in construction - including the implementation of BS 8903 - drawing on case studies and best practice from your industry.  In addition, the course includes a complementary copy of the CIRIA Guidelines to Sustainable Procurement in Construction (written by Action Sustainability as Lead Technical Author and published in January 2011).

  • Construction industry professionals buying materials, works or services on behalf of the client, main contractor or sub-contractor across all stages of the construction project
  • Clients who are looking to improve their understanding of their sustainability goals and how they can influence their supply chains
  • Consultants - in particular, cost, design, architects and project managers - who are looking to improve their understanding of how decisions they take promote or hinder sustainability in procurement and the supply chains.  It may also help consultants provide better advice to clients on how sustainability requirements can be met
  • Suppliers by building understanding of how a customer's sustainability requirements can be met, providing a common language they can use with their buyers
  • Students and those seeking to advance their knowledge in the subject area
  • Public sector purchasers are welcome but it should be noted that the course does not cover public policy or EU procurement rules in any detail. A course for public sector people based on BS 8903 is under development will be available shortly

Cost
