About the speakers

Vaishali Baid

Vaishali is a senior sustainable procurement and, social value consultant. She has worked in procurement for more than eleven years with a focus on sourcing, category management, supplier management and consulting with various Fortune 500 companies. Throughout her experience, she has put sustainability elements into perspective for various projects.

In her current profile she supports clients with embedding social value / social sustainability in their procurement processes, sourcing support, designing tender questions, evaluation criteria and scoring based on PPN 06/20. She also has experience in creating toolkits for procurement, charters, category strategies considering sustainability requirements, ISO 20400 evaluations, workshops for different procurement teams. She is currently leading the Social Value Group of the Supply Chain Sustainability School.

Paul Griffiths

Paul has overseen a programme of national collaborative contracts since January 2016. He oversees the delivery of a collaborative procurement pipeline for Wales with over 30 national frameworks. He also leads the Welsh Government’s Commercial Capability team.

Prior to this Paul has held a variety of procurement roles across the Welsh Public sector including Head of Professional Services in the National Procurement Service (NPS) and the Strategic Procurement Adviser to the Welsh Government’s Economy Department.

He has worked on major commercial interventions, including the Welsh Government Superfast Broadband Cymru project, a tender worth some £0.5 billion. An active supporter of the procurement profession, Paul served on the CIPS Local Branch committee in a range of capacities from 1997 – 2015.
