Emma-Jane Allen (AIEMA, FIR Ambassador) Senior Consultant

Emma-Jane (EJ) is an experience sustainability professional, having worked in the field of sustainability and sustainable procurement for more than 20 years, working with clients across construction, homes, rail, utilities, facilities management, healthcare and defence.

EJ is passionate about the ‘People’ element of sustainability and the need for a ‘Just Transition’. She works alongside clients to support the development and delivery of sustainable procurement strategies, with a particular focus on modern slavery / human rights and social value. She’s an experienced trainer and presenter, delivering CPD training to more than 2,000 individuals in the last year on modern slavery / human rights, social value and employment conditions.

EJ is project manager and co-author for the development of Responsible Sourcing Guidance for Solar Panels and has recently authored Guidance for the Construction Sector on Right to Work and the People Matter Charter Maturity Guidance Framework.

EJ led the development of the Construction and Homes markets in the multi-award-winning Supply Chain Sustainability School and now leads the School’s collaborative modern slavery group, leading and facilitating collaboration across the built environment.

Prior to life as a senior consultant, and before the launch of the School, EJ worked as both Business Manager and Senior Project Manager for Action Sustainability when she spent most of her time project managing sustainable supply chain projects for local and central government and, clients from the built environment.

EJ speaks fluent Spanish and French and can get away with the basics in Japanese and Catalan. She loves all things outdoorsy – especially camping and loves to travel.
