Berta Santos

Berta has recently joined the Fairness, Inclusion and Respect (FIR) team as a Project Coordinator. Her role revolves around facilitating the execution of the FIR Programme at the Supply Chain Sustainability School.

She takes charge of the day-to-day organisation of online events and workshops, with a particular emphasis on nurturing the FIR Ambassador initiative. Additionally, Berta manages any dedicated FIR social media channels, ensuring the message reaches the right audience.

Berta brings expertise in community-building, which she honed through her experiences at the University of Sussex. Notably, she played a pivotal role in establishing the university’s podcasting network, and leading a significant project dedicated to enhancing the accessibility of career resources for international students. In line with her values, Berta has recently launched a social enterprise aimed at aiding students and graduates in breaking into the Social Impact and Sustainability professional spaces.

Berta’s enthusiasm for advocacy is equally notable, with a keen interest in youth and climate justice. She has previously been involved as a Youth Climate Activist within the European Union and as a Youth Delegate at the World Bank.

In her (little!) free time, she enjoys slowing down through crafts like crocheting, sewing and embroidery; especially if it’s with her grandmother back in Spain, her home country. These are the only tasks that will keep her still for more than 5 minutes!
